2005 Honda Accord Coupe Repair Manual
Background and Identification The seventh generation Honda Accord was offered in the DX, LX, and EX models with the option of a V-6 in the LX and EX models. The stock DX, LX, and EX models all included a 160-hp, 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine with the option of a 240-hp, 3.0 liter V-6 available in the LX and EX models. This generation brought about the new 4-cylinder K-series engine that gave the Accord a slight horse power gain as well as an increase in fuel economy, while the V-6 engine remained mostly the same as the previous generation. As with previous generations, the DX model stayed as the more inexpensive option with basic cloth upholstery and simple climate control and audio systems. The LX model, a balance between value and features, brought about upgrades in the sound system with the addition of 3 speakers as well as a remote keyless entry. An increase in cup-holders was also added on top of many other convenience features. The EX model, the most expensive and luxurious model, included advanced features like dual-zone voice activated front air conditioning and a power sliding glass sunroof.
